Hi, Im James Knott. This is your Better Beer Authority.

Weve already learned about session beer, but today we are going to learn about THE session beer Session Premium Lager.

Session Premium Lager comes in stubby 11 oz bottles and is brewed in Hood River, Oregon at the Full Sail Brewing Company. The brewery is located near the Columbia River on the Oregon/Washington border - and the beautiful setting has inspired the brewers to work with an eye on environmentalism.

This is a Premium Lager with 5.1% ABV. Full Sail describes it as a pre-Prohibition style lager that reminds us what American lagers used to be like

We hear about many different styles of beer, but they basically break down into two different types Ales and Lagers.

In a nutshell, Ales are brewed at warmer temperatures - in a short period of time - with top-fermenting yeasts. The process releases more complex subtle flavors such as fruitiness.

Lagers are brewed over a longer period of time - at relatively cooler temperatures - with yeasts that ferment at the bottom of the beer. Lagering leads to a crisper, cleaner, less fruity flavor. Lagers should be served at a colder temperature than ales.

Popular Ales include Pale Ale, IPAs, Porters, Stouts and wheat beers. Well-known lagers include pilsners, bocks and Oktoberfest.
