Welcome to Mount Pleasant Winery
Mount Pleasant Winery was established in 1859, and is located in the heart of the Augusta Appellation wine district, the first in the United States, founded in 1980. Na Valley was the second in 1983. We have more than 85 acres of grapevines producing on our land, where we grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay, and have been since the late '80s. Our goal is to reach the hundred-acre plateau. Our wine has literally spanned the globe. It's pabeen served in Europe, Asia, South America, Oceania and right here in Augusta. Our wines continue to win numerous national and international awards. In fact, we're quite proud of not just our reds and whites, but also our golds and silvers. And we think you'll enjoy them too. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
A New Year, New Pricing!
Ring in 2011 with new wine pricing!
Mount Pleasant Estates welcomes 2011 (a little early) with new wine pricing at the Augusta location. Enjoy the same award-winning wines at our beautiful winery for better prices! All the favorites will be available at lower prices, including the Estates Cabernet Sauvignon for $36.31, the Estates Norton for $28.86 and the Estates Villagio for $18.62. Due to our commitments to our retail distributors, we have not been able to sell certain wines at our Augusta location in the past. Now those wines, such as our Rhineland and Harvest Red, will be available for take-home purchase by the case. Cases are available at a 10% discount, and are only for take-home consumption. Visit Mount Pleasant Estates in Augusta, Mo. to see all the new price offerings. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

RECYCLE AND SAVE!
Introducing our new bottle recycling program!
At Mount Pleasant we're dedicated to our planet. We are a viticultrally sustainable business. These practices maintain economical viability, are socially supportive and are ecologically sound. In continuation of those efforts we're excited to introduce our new bottle recycling program - bring in an empty bottle from any winery and receive 10% off your take-home purchase. Feel free to bring in as many bottles as you'd like. The discount limit is 10% per customer, but we're dedicated to this cause and happy to recycle whatever you bring.

HISTORY
Mount Pleasant Winery was founded in 1859 in Augusta, Missouri; America's first designated wine district. George Munch, who came with his brother, Frederick, from Germany, established a vineyard and winery in an area that reminded him of his homeland. From the beauty of the topography to the incredible potential for creating excellent wines, they chose Mount Pleasant. The original cellars were completed in 1881 and were built from the wood and abundant limestone in the area.
When Prohibition hit in 1920 the winery was forced to close and all of the vines were removed. In 1966, the winery was reopened and the vineyards were replanted with self-rooted vines and classic grafted European varieties.
In 1980, the Augusta Appellation was created and became America's First Wine District.
Today, the winery grows 16 grape varieties on 85 acres and the original cellars are still used to age the "estate bottled" wines and our international award winning Augusta Ports.
EXPERIENCE
Only a short distance from St. Louis, the winery offers a calm, friendly experience that is quite the opposite of the daily hustle and bustle of the city. Treat yourself to a trip to Mount Pleasant Winery, tour the limestone cellars and taste our international award-winning "estate bottled" wines and Ports (you're sure to find a new favorite). Then settle down on the patio with its majestic view and enjoy a bottle of your favorite wine and delicious picnic fare from the Mount Pleasant grocery.
