Downtown Louisville, Kentucky

Evan Williams is a brand of bourbon whiskey which is bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky[1] at the

Heaven Hill facility. The product isaged for a minimum of four years[citation needed] and is sold

 for a relatively modest price.

Production

Most Evan Williams bourbon is sold as the mass-market "Black Label" variety, which is aged 5

to 7 years.[citation needed] Evan Williams also bottles Evan Willams 1783 bourbon in more limited

quantities and a highly rated, nine-year-old single barrel bourbonsold in vintage dated bottles

sealed with black wax.

Evan Williams is the second largest-selling Kentucky straight bourbon.[citation needed] Evan Williams

began distilling in 1783 nearLouisville, Kentucky after emigrating from Wales[2], illustrating the

primacy of the Welsh whisky tradition in the United States (Jack Daniel was also of Welsh

descent). Evan Williams Black is 43% alc/vol (86 proof) unlike some popular whiskeys which are

40% alc/vol (80 proof).
