(512) ALT
(512) ALT is a German-style amber ale that is fermented cooler than typical ales and cold conditioned

like a lager. ALT means "old" in German and refers to a beer style made using ale yeast after many

German brewers had switched to newly discovered lager yeast. This ale has a very smooth, yet

pronounced, hop bitterness with a malty backbone and a characteristic German yeast character.

Made with 98% Organic 2-row and Munich malts and US noble hops.

(Approx. 6% ABV)

At once cuddly and ferocious, (512) BRUIN combines a smooth, rich maltiness and mahogany

color with a solid hop backbone and stealthy 7.6% alcohol. Made with Organic 2 Row and Munich

malts, plus Chocolate and Crystal malts, domestic hops, and a touch of molasses, this brew has

notes of raisins, dark sugars, and cocoa, and pairs perfectly with food and the crisp fall air.

(Approx. 7.6% ABV)

(512) Whiskey Barrel Aged Double Pecan Porter
(512) Double Pecan Porter is a robust porter accented by locally grown roasted pecans and subtly

enhanced by aging in recently emptied oak whiskey barrels. For the first ever bottling, only one

200L barrel was bottled. Notes of chocolate, coffee and pecan marry with the subtle flavors of

vanilla and whiskey to make this a wonderful winter warmer worth sharing and savoring. We sincerely

 hope you enjoy every sip.

(512) Brewing Company is a microbrewery located in the heart of Austin,

brewing for the community using as many local, domestic and organic ingredients as possible.

The original practice of small breweries supplying their immediate community has been nearly

lost, and with it, the quality that is possible from small handcrafted batches. Our beers are built

on old world English and Belgian recipes, but enhanced to celebrate bold domestic ingredients.

Made with Austins mineral rich water, the (512) beers taste like none other. (512) Brewing Company

is your brewery and we thank you for supporting it! MEET THE (512) TEAM The early Days (Austin)

Kevin Brand Owner/Brewer Ive been passionate about beer since 1992 when I started working at

a local beer store in Austins Hyde Park area, Pronto Food Mart, where dozens of beers are available.

Inspired by some of my favorite beers being locally produced along with the resurrection of US craft

brewing, I dove into the rapidly growing home brewing movement. The experience of brewing my own

beer gave me the opportunity to question all aspects of beer making, seeking to understand the

contribution of each ingredient, while participating in the evolution and maturing of the Austin beer

drinking community. The more beers I tried, the more I liked. I soon realized that understanding

beer is not a destination, its a journey... Kevin's passion for the outdoors is a key ingredient Going

West After graduating from UT with an Engineering degree, I packed up my 7 gallon kettle, plastic

mash tun and glass carboys and moved to Northern California for 10 years, where I continued to

brew and continued to develop my passion for the art of beer making. I was brewing more than I

could drink; developing recipes and experimenting...and deepening my appreciation for complexities

of the hops grown on the West Coast. Transitioning to kegs forced me to take out the shelving in our

fridge, which didnt exactly excite my wife until I showed her that we now had beer on tap...shes been

supportive from Day 1! All the while, my day job was medical device development in leading edge start-ups,

where I gained an appreciation for design, quality assurance, manufacturing, and process control within the

very stringent and highly regulated FDA environment. Something creative was missing that I was beginning

to realize I could only find in brewing... The Brands 2010 You CAN Go Home Once back in Austin and in

another very exciting medical device start up, I began thinking more and more about brewing as a career.

With strong encouragement from my entire family, I concluded I would do it! In June 2007, with the

support of my wife and new born son, I started down the path... For me, brewing brings together both

my passionate, creative side and my organized, controlled and diligent nature. Engineering + cooking:
